POLIFILM relies on TNPP-free formulations

POLIFILM EXTRUSION offers its customers TNPP free stretch film solutions and thus follows its guideline to exclude the use of substances of high concern according to the REACH list. Since the beginning of 2020 the company from Weißandt-Gölzau, Germany, avoids materials containing the substance in its stretch film production.

“The processes of our internal quality management are designed to recognise changes in material classifications at an early stage to ensure that we can react promptly”, says Dr. Irene Schroeter, Team Leader Application Technology Industrial & Agricultural Films at POLIFILM EXTRUSION. “Even though many of the substances classified as SVHC are not harmful when combined, we prioritize the use of alternatives”, Dr. Schroeter explains the procedure and adds ” “The harmlessness and safety of our products are just as much quality criteria for us as their reliable function and finally they are a sign of our guiding principle EXCELLENCE IN FILMS”.

TNPP – what is it?

Tris(nonylphenyl)phosphite is a substance used as an antioxidant and stabiliser in the processing of various plastic and rubber products. It is classified as a Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC). In other words, as one that has been identified under the REACH Regulation as having properties of very high concern and may have serious effects on human health or the environment.
