POLIFILM wins the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes 2017”

On 9 September, POLIFILM EXTRUSION GmbH was awarded the sought-after prize, as one the most important companies in Saxony-Anhalt.

The nationwide and cross-industry prize, which was awarded for the 23rd time by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation, is amongst the most important business awards for small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany, due to the high number of applicants, and ISO-certified testing criteria.

Petra Tröger, Chairwoman of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation: "This competition is primarily about the overall evaluation of a company, about business management results as a whole, and sustainability and future orientation, not only for the company, but for society."

The competition is supported by Prime Ministers or Ministers of Economics as patrons in the 16 federal states. The motto for the current competition year, 2017, was "Respect and appreciation". This year, a total of 4,923 small and medium-sized enterprises were nominated by more than 1,400 communities, institutions, chambers, associations, companies and individual persons.

Minister of Economics (Saxony-Anhalt), Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann congratulates them: "Congratulations to the prize winners and finalists from Saxony-Anhalt. Anyone who has been nominated for or even awarded the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" is amongst the business elite in Germany. The fact the Saxony-Anhalt's small and medium-sized enterprises are prize-worthy, does not come as a surprise. Our medium-sized enterprises stand for good work and training, innovation and creativity, and high responsibility and entrepreneurial spirit. Medium-sized enterprises have a crucial stake in establishing an effective market economy in East Germany."

The prize was accepted by Mr Jörg Wingefeld, Division Manager for Technical Films, on behalf of the management and the whole staff. The prize giving took place at the Maritim Hotel Dresden, during a ceremonial evening gala.
