Now twice as many RecyClass certified films

POLIFILM EXTRSUION is following through on its announcement and has more than doubled the list of its RecyClass-certified solutions. In addition to individual products, entire product families are also certified with regard to their recycled content and its origin.

The portfolio of certified films now extends across all product ranges of the film specialist, from construction and agricultural films to stretch and packaging films, as well as label and laminating films.

With the extension of the certifications, POLIFILM EXTRUSION once again underlines the importance of transparency along the supply chain, especially in the handling of recycled materials, as well as the very clear company objective of expanding the proportion of recycled materials in the portfolio, both with regard to PIR and PCR. “We are proud that we can offer solutions that contain recycled materials in almost all product segments, with the exception of so-called “contact-sensitive applications”, i.e. films for direct food contact or the pharmaceutical sector, and that we can also prove this in many cases with the corresponding certificate,” says Dr. Gottfried Weyhe, Senior Research & Development Manager and project manager for the RecyClass certifications at POLIFILM EXTRUSION.

RecyClass is an independent and cross-industry initiative whose audits not only examine the traceability of the recyclates used along the value chain, but also the recyclate content in terms of quantity and origin. The latter serves the purpose of labelling and clearly differentiating PIR and PCR to the customer.
